That Was Frustrating

So, this weekend I had a plan! I was going to finish the Flower Basket Shawl I'm working on. Well, as usual, my best laid plans...

Skip to last night. I went to bed thinking, I'm going to finish that sucker tomorrow night and I'll have it blocking in time to be tucked in and asleep before 11:00. All was going well...until...

We had a meeting at the Hotel Northampton tonight to make our choices for the reception (eek....it's real!) and I left work and had fantastic plans to sit in my car in the parking lot with the windows open knitting in the sun while waiting for Ed. I go to take the shawl out of my bag, it snags on my purse (I don't even know how) and it gets a HUGE pull. And I mean huge. I'm pretty good at covering up knitting mistakes (if I do say so myself), but this was a good 7-8 inches of yarn just pulled out. I tried stretching it, but quickly decided that wouldn't work. Did I have a lifeline? No. Of course not. I like to knit lace dangerously.

My eyes welled up a bit, but off to unknitting I went (I hate the term tinking). We had our meeting, made some interesting choices for the reception and home we went. I had dinner and unkint some more. Then I turned on Bones and unknit some more...and unknit, and unknit and unknit. In the end, I only had to go back 4 rows, but since I'm towards the end, I'm working with some pretty long rows. I have two rows reknit, so I'm 2 rows behind where I was at about 3 o'clock this afternoon. But, I'm going to be optomistic. I'll get up early, go for a refreshing walk, get ready for work, get there and work, work, work (though I have to be careful, I'm running out of words, must reserve them!) and go home and knit, knit, knit. I will finish the shawl tomorrow.

By the way, I keep weighing the ball, and I am seriously knitting the never-ending ball of yarn. I knit 10 rows and it weighs practically the same! Off to bed.
