Gone in flash

Gone in a Flash...
All the hard work, planning, and stressing is done. Stephanie Pearl-McPhee (the Yarn Harlot) has come and gone. It's all over...
But it was SPECTACULAR!!
We had over 400 people come to the Calvin to listen to her speak, and she did an excellent job. It's always nice to hear another knitter talk about...knitting. And how other people (the Muggles as Stephanie calls them) don't understand.
And yes, that is a beer sitting on the podium with her. It's a BBC (mmm). Steve presented it to her at the beginning (and it's out there on YouTube), and she only needed it a few times (like during the Q & A session when she saw we had roving microphones...one of which I roved with).
The audience was great...they asked fantastic questions, and the store was only open until about 11 or so. Needless to say, everyone was pretty tired today, but it was worth it.
The event went so smoothly, and while everyone thanks us, Stephanie sure does make it easy.
There were even a few kids in the audience...and some even knit. I think that's great! Well, I think everyone should knit. I'm trying to convince my mom that she should do it, but haven't had much luck with that.

Before she spoke at the Calvin, she signed books for the staff, and yes, I got my picture taken with her.
I look like a complete goofball, but I did get to hold the sock! It's a very pretty sock too.
Stephanie was super nice. And if she was nervous before her talk, she certainly did not let on.

Speaking of socks...we received the Special Limited Edition Tofusties color for June today, and I snapped up a ball. It's very pretty. Bright pink and black with a little purple and a bit of tan mixed in.
Here is a picture. I really need to stop with the yarn stuff though. It is absolutely ridiculous, but I seem to be addicted. And I promise I'll use it all...eventually.

So, yeah, I'm kinda sad that it's all over. It's a bit like Christmas. You wait forever for it...so you can give people the gifts you thought long and hard about (because we all know it's all about the giving...even though the getting is fun too!) and all of a sudden, the day is over, you're back in your pj's and in bed.
This was similar. I've been waiting for this...fearing it a little, and getting excited for it, and poof, it's all over. Though, my brain and body didn't seem to agree. I was WIDE awake most of the night. I think all the excitement and nerves I may have been feeling about it finally caught up with me. So, I'm ready for bed, but not before I get a little bit of knitting in....

Good post, now I feel like I didn't miss it. I think that's an awesome picture! I had that tired/happy/insane smile when I met her last time:
