Oh dear, I have lots of catching up to do.
Completed a few projects :
A bag for my mom. It is made out of Valley Yarns Berskhire, and Berkshire Hand Dyed (Maple Leaf). I'm okay with the way that it came out. I'm not totally in love with the zipper. It was no problem to put in, but it doesn't lay as well as I would like. It is lined with fabric (that was real fun too!). All in all I guess I'm okay with the entire project. It was not super fun to knit because I had to actually pay attention, and we all know that is NEVER fun :). I also had to rip it back a few times, also never fun. There were a few nights that I went to sleep swearing the pattern. It is based on a pattern from Pusrnalities Plus.
And then there were the baby projects for Ed's cousin:
The blanket is Kathy's Mrs. Trombley's Crochet Blanket made in Valley Yarns Longmeadow (mauve). It was a thing of beauty. It depressed me to give it up (more on why later). It was a simple one row repeat that looks much harder than it is. I have it bad for crochet right now (of course my current project is on needles). The Longmeadow may not be machine washable, but it is the softest, nicest cotton yarn. Well, cotton and microfiber. I am in love.
The sweater is a garter stitch matinee jacket a la Debbie Bliss and her Baby Cashmerino. It was totally a last minute project. I decided 6 days before the shower that the blanket wasn't enough, so at 11 o'clock on Friday (the day before I had to work and then go to the shower) I was finishing this puppy. I LOVE how cute it is. IWhen we got to the shower, she was still opening gifts. Most people weren't paying attention, but I saw when she opened my present. Took it out, barely looked at it, and back in the box it went. Ah well, such is the life of a knitter.
Now, without further ado, allow me to introduce to you the Thompson Twins. They arrived on August 4th and I love them :)
This is Andrew (Drew)
He was born first.
Now a month old.

This is Michael (Mikey)
Obviously the second one to arrive.
